You'll take the record out of its sleeve to find the dreaded words no record owner wants to read: "Manufactured by United Record Pressing". Extremely noisy even after cleaning, very cool packaging though!

Edited 4 years agoI'm in the same boat in that I was hesitant to buy this after the reviews below but honestly, my copy sounds great and looks even better. 4 stars since the album itself is my least favorite by them.

I also have no issues with defects or sound quality on my copy. There are a lot of bad reviews on this pressing, but I took a shot because I love colored vinyl, and the lenticular cover is just fun! I wasn't disappointed at all, and the packaging and sound are great!

I purchased this new/sealed from a discogs seller and was pleasantly surprised to find that the records did not suffer from any surface noise or other defects. All four sides played through flawlessly on my system. I know NRP and URP are not on the same level as pressing plants like RTI or QRP in general, but my copy of this was well done. I'm not sure I would say it's a significant difference from the digital copies I've heard (unlike the original pressing of Icky Thump mastered by KPG and SH and pressed at RTI; that blows away any other issue of that album), but I don't have any regrets about picking this up.

The White Stripes an hour ago on facebook:
"The White Stripes pivotal record Get Behind Me Satan has never been released commercially on standard black vinyl... until now! Starting on Black Friday, the double LP will remain in print in perpetuity. Head to your local, independent record store on November 25th to pick up your copy or purchase online via thirdmanstore.com." -
I just found myself a perfect copy for $50 so I'm pretty happy with myself. Sounds fantastic. Highly recommended

I'm disappointed with this release. Fantastic album, noisy/poorly pressed vinyl. For the amount being charged for this on RSD, and for it being a "First time ever on Vinyl" release, I expected so much more. The visual presentation is nice, the velvety cover is a nice touch. I've come to expect so much from TMR, but between this, the poor sound quality of the 'Lazaretto Ultra LP', and the terrible quality of The Dead Weather's 'Dodge and Burn' LP (mine was riddled with way too many loud pops despite looking very clean), I've become wary of getting any other TMR releases before researching extensively.
