I the 'Ferry Corsten Remix' when it came out...WOW! What a tune! He did the original version every bit of justice it deserves. Truly beautiful and still one of my favorite trance tunes to this day. That rollin' baseline eats me right up.

YES YES YES, this is a choon, and unfortunately swapped it for a record I don't even in about 2001/2?
Finally re bought it to place it back into my collection.

no doubt the ferry corsten remix is way better than tiesto remix of Barber's Adagio For Strings . The typical ferry corsten bassline and synth will sent shivers on the breakdown and release .

Completely agree with Rich.C, Corsten's original version is indeed a trance masterpiece. Tiesto's remix, on the other hand, was a disastrous reinterpretation, lacking respect for the essence of the original track.

Rich C. Totally agree with you. Tiesto should have left well alone in my personal opinion.

One of the big trance tracks of all time & its all about the breakdown, sends a shiver down my spine, absolute monster of a track, they simply don't come any bigger and these are the mixes to have.

Just one of those tracks everyone knows from the film platoon and the breakdown is simply amazing in a packed nightclub. Shame Tiesto massacred it and now everyone associates this track with his shitty version, he just basically played with the breakdown and then slammed a booming beat over the top....and thats a remix is it, FFS there should be a law made against this! Corsten made the original into a trance masterpiece no question, slotting in nicely with system f - out of the blue and binary finary 1999, if you were a trance dj in 1999 and you didn't own let alone play this your very presence near the decks was frowned upon ;)

Barber's Adagio for String's is the classical music featured in the film Platoon.
