Edited one year agoAs this is one of the two versions with the Gangsta Boo part on it, I was deadset on this version and am glad I didn't let the bad reviews keep me from buying it.
Although it seems to be hit or miss with this copy, I guess that a good clean would resolve most of the previously mentioned crackles on this (it did so on mine).
The detail and sub-bass really come out on this pressing. Mastering is absolutely superb. The sound is rich and detailed and the bass rumbles your body without overpowering the vocals or the rest of the instrumentals. Definitely my favourite RTJ album and pressing. -
Edited 4 years agoMy copy has nice marbling, but the colour is a lot greener than photos online, maybe those are not photos of the reissue. Great bass and sound.

My pressing sounds good. Weirdly, disc 1 is totally marbled teal. Disc 2 is almost pure teal except 1 or 2 small white smears. They don't look anything alike.

Copy sounds good but one side of the first record has a weird square edge instead of the rounded edge. Doesn't affect sound quality. Just odd.

Edited 5 years agoToo much noise and crackles on my pressing I think the only way to receive a good pressing is to wait for a reissue that is not pressed at Rainbo.

So happy, today I got the RTJ (EU-Edition incl.12') and RTJ 2 which is absolutely great. Love that artwork of it (both of them), the vinyls are good. It'always not such a good feeling if it's not black sometimes it sounds strange, but here it's good. What a big gatefold album with lyrics, poster, stickers and awesome sound! RTJ!! -
Edited 7 years agoNoisy as all hell, but it's not a total vibe wrecker as the music is loud throughout. I don't think there's even a black version of this, just teal or pink.

My copy of this is whitish marbled teal colour and has a lot of surface noise throughout; disappointing. A good album but not nearly as excellent as RTJ 3. -
Edited 7 years agoSide D ("Crown" especially) quite noisy on my copy. Seems a little inconsistent. -
