Chuck Schuldiner was an ambitious artist, with clear ideas and little patience. He contributed to create a new musical genre and then he revolutionized it. He followed his individual thought patterns, in search of an artistic acknowledgment. So he had a lot of problems with metal musicians. But he knew how to expand the boundaries of his music with the collaboration of other creative minds. Individual Thought Patterns reflected - both in thematic and musical aspects - the ideas of his creator. A perennial quest of cerebral complexity, furious immediacy and emotive depth. A vigorous attack to the enemies (never before a death metal album was been so groovy and direct) and a deep reflection about the relationship amongst individual, society and destiny. Melancholic and dreadful, as a premonition about death.
