Reviews

My copy sounds amazing. No clics or pops. No distortion or other issues. The pressing have good dinamics and in general sounds really good. Highly recommended for the price.
-
Anyone recommend a version where the sax isn’t as loud? I saw the reviews before purchasing but didn’t realize I’d be as distracted as I was by it. Please and thank you.
-
I am very happy with this for the price. Nice and flat no significant pops or crackles very good value as well wish I could find more like this from official labels.
-
Very clean and defined sound. Amazing stage. The only problem is an annoying distortion on the high sax, which played on the left side but scraked on the right.
-
4 stars overall, but 5 stars for this price range releases: you get a nice recording, well mixed, distinct bass, nice drums and cymbals, piano sounds great... It's just this overly harsh sax... Of course it's in a center of attention, but on better releases it's sounding just loud, not harsh.

Beaucoup l'on déjà dit ici, mais j'y remets une couche : le pressage est de très mauvaise qualité, aucune puissance, le son est linéaire, aucune vie, bref... quel dommage pour cet album qui est une pépite en Jazz !

Edited 10 months agothis album is a cheap copy of this one: https://discogs.versitio.com/es/release/23098850-John-Coltrane-Giant-Steps

Edited one year agoA bargain (or maybe I was lucky)! Sounds really nice, with clear top end and midrange. Bass also good.
-
The print quality of the labels are reminiscent of a bootleg. Surprised that these labels are so low-res.
-
Not an audiophile pressing but it's a very nice one, especially for the 7euro i paid for it.
Lots of detail on Coltrane's sax. Bass is a little boomy and the band's sounds a bit veiled most of the time. Some of that could be in the mix, though, as I the CD (and also his other Atlantic albums) sounding a bit similar balance-wise. I'd give it a 7+/10
No major issues with pressing quality - one rather quiet low-pitched (thankfully) stiching spot on A1, few small pops here and there - aparat from that no issues.
The cover looks OK. The label looks terrible - looks like low quality scan printed out on a home printer.
