Edited 18 years agoThis is probably one of the more eclectic compilations out there...
Compost Rec's gained a lot of respect for their down tempo releases, but this 2xCD edition to celebrate there 100th release has a lot more to offer than that.
Full of newskool jazzy influences over bigbeat to more bossa-orietated rhythms,: this stuff is swinging!
No generic laidback lounge sounds here, although Pole provides a deep neo-dub-rmx & DJ Force delivers a nice instrumental hip-hop-tune. Household names like Beanfield & Fauna Flash do their own thing, but for me the stand-out track is Les Gammas with the emotional "Outra Vida", simply beautiful music.
An ideal soundtrack for a highbrow cocktail-party or for those days where you just like to hear something completely different. A compilation that's already >5yrs old & that will keep you fascinated for years to come!
