Edited 3 years agoa real masterpiece, which stands the test of time, it is simply timeless. jon hassell and brian eno was a perfect team to exploring new unheard sounds and textures, very atmospheric and much deeper than most of the worldmusic and ambient records out there. it is also my favourite album of the 4th world series. delta rain dream is a standout track, haunting, emotinal, atmospheric, deeeep...it sounds like a real album, although there are a lot of different musicians on the tracks. a kind of ethno ambient jazz, no other record sounds like this one, it is really unique.
funfact: i have a vinyl copy of eno's music for films, which has the first side of this record on side 2....a false pressing. i was happy to find these tracks here.
this is serious, pioneering music! r.i.p., jon.
