Edited 19 years agoIt's hard to beat the first single of "Confessions On A Dance Floor". After the incredible success of "Hung Up", "Sorry" is next on the list. Effective radio version. The melody can stay in your head for hours, if not days. However, we don't have the opportunity to hear a proper 12"/Dub version of this on this single (I must presume the album version stands out as the only "extended" mix). Then, Stuart Price is remixing the song using his "Man With Guitar" alias (Track #2). It's a bit weak, very synth pop, with not much depth. Will the Pet Shop Boys have more chance with their own version? They haven't remixed lots of artists up to now and I guess they couldn't refuse a chance to collaborate with the queen of pop for the first time (who re they originally wrote their song "Heart" for her?). Neil Tennant adds some more vocals but the result is not as convincing as it was when they did the same thing for David Bowie ("Hallo Spaceboy") ten years ago. Still, it's probably the best remix effort on this single. The rest of the story for me: Yawns with Paul Oakenfold; yawns with Green Velvet (which offers a very annoying electro version) and yawns with Paper Faces. A single can't be perfect everytime.
