Edited 9 months agoAbsolutely superb pressing. Shame they simply don't do them like this any more. Quantity over quality rules the day now :-(
However, if this is your favourite Pink Floyd album, there's something wrong with your ears. -
Have decided to go with this release instead of 2016 version (have found it in Mint condition). Sounds rich and deep. Don’t have anything to compare with, but this record is great by itself. A lot of pleasure from listening.
Some noticeable whooshing background when the volume is turned up - just a sign of modern wax )
Very happy with this release in my collection. -
This is a fabulous Vinyl. The Vinyl was crystal clear and flat. I heard no pops or skips. Just clear beauty. The Division Bells is my favorite Pink Floyd album. I saw them 5 different times throughout the late 60s and mid 90s. The last two times were in Detroit in 1994. They played on a Friday night and I was so excited to see them play "The Division Bell". It was my first time hearing the songs. The concert was so amazing and unbelievable as they had lights, lasers, video, fireworks, and the Pig balloons. Seeing a Pink Floyd concert is really indescribable. The music was Devine. The concert was so fantastic, I went to the ticket window and purchased tickets for the follow night. As with many of their concerts, they would play two nights because there was never a way to get everyone that wanted to see them into any venue all at once. After this two night adventure, I went to Europe to tour around for a month on a rented Harley and you know it. I was listening to the album most of the time. And it never got old on that trip and has never gotten old. Buy it you will love and cherish it. I did not know that the concert I watched on those two nights in July would be the last concert tour of the Greatest rock and roll group ever to play! My feelings anyway. But I am honored to have been there and so happy that I saw them twice on that last farewell tour.

Wonderful album with one of my all-time fave Floyd tracks in High Hopes.
I concur with all that has been said previously regarding the quality and mastering.
Just two queries...
Are the card inner sleeves really coated with anti-static film? Mine just appear to be standard cardboard.
Also, is it possible to get a booklet pdf from someone/somewhere, please? I bought my album second hand and there is no code. -
Edited 6 years agoJust picked this up the other weekend. I was hoping to get the Bernie Grundman (Only to find out there isn't a Grundman 2016, it was Doug Sax) reissue from 2016, but just couldn't find the right price. I saw this at a record store for the right price and didn't know too much about this specific pressing. After giving it a few spins and listening, it sounds fantastic. Exactly as you would expect from a Pink Floyd release. They did this one right and all sonics sound amazing. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great pressing. Since the original is edited for time and all the single vinyl bootlegs are sped up to fit on one lp (cd rip sped up). My friends original (us) blue copy does not sound this good. Maybe due to colored vinyl but I like this new double version because all the record is there. I can live with fades then a side flip. Cheers.

Edited 9 years agoAfter hearing both the 1994 pressing Pink Floyd - The Division Bell and this one a few times I'm going to side with the original. Still, great effort by Doug Sax. This pressing has a lower noise floor and is overall cleaner but I'm not a fan of the added compression and EQ on the mid/highs. The sound spectrum sounds a bit crunched whereas the original 1994 master opens up naturally and is full of warmth. I also love that the original pressing does not get interrupted, the sound effects in between the music flow continuously as intended.

This has to be the best vinyl I own. The artwork is glossy and of very high quality. The sleeves are pretty heavy, have the same gorgeous artwork quality and are lined inside with antistatic fabric. The 180gram vinyls have to be of the best pressing quality I've ever heard. If you want someone to hear what vinyl is capable of you have to let them hear this one. The only downside is that there's no booklet or tracklist included. Not that you need it since you'll be completely immersed into the music once you drop the needle. Highly recommended when you own a good quality hifi system!
