Notes
Exclusive sleeve artwork at time of release. Includes an insert printed on both sides.
Reissued in 2023, no longer as an Urban Outfitter exclusive, and with a different catalog number, 00602537864843. The easiest way to differentiate between the 2014 and the 2023 editions is by looking at the spine, as the covers are very similar. If still in its original plastic, this 2014 edition has a pink Urban Outfitters hype sticker. The barcode is the same on both editions.
The vinyl on this original edition is a lighter translucent blue on the first disc and the second disc is slightly translucent while the reissue has opaque violet.
D1 is titled "Fucked My Way Up To The Top" on the insert.

Just got this release in the mail and I have to agree this release is only really good for the collectibility. The paper sleeve feels very cheap and the discs are thin, riddled with surface noise and pops, and sound like wind in a tunnel during ages. I don’t hate it, it’s a beautiful release, but it’s just beautiful to look at, hearing it isn’t that impressive. The UK pressing of the deluxe blows this out of the water

Edited 7 months agoUpon receiving the repress and comparing it to this one, the repress colors are much darker and the discs are thicker (as expected cause these were very thin). Definitely prefer the urban outfitters colors over the repress as theyre more unique and cant really compare them to any other vinyl i have, but the repress sounds so much better. Ive played my old one way too much since i got it as my first lana vinyl so will be moving on to the repress for sound!
Edit: i find myself still playing this as the new lavender disc is just ugly to look at tbh but this one is very pretty! I always kept my copy in pristine condition, it plays well too i assume people comment on their sounding horrible due to this record being made 10 years ago now -
Edited 2 years agoi found a sealed copy of this recently and it sounds great. A 'near mint' copy I got last year is riddled with surface noise. So there's definitely great sounding copies of this variant you might come across

Edited 2 years agoOkay. So as a collector this is a great pressing to have. The colors are absolutely stunning. HOWEVER, the sound quality is just ok. The plain black UK 180g pressing far outshines any other pressing of UV sound-wise. I love this pressing for the looks and collectability, but sound wise it falls short.

I used to have it in my collection but eventually got rid of it early in this year because this press sounds absolutely terrible. Not to mention the cracks, but the general sound quality is poor. No grooves and very quiet, not as fairly loud as other ones. Not worth to have it unless you care about the vinyl colours. Sleeve looks and feels cheap, rather poor quality pressing on a cheap, not shiny cardboard. If it wasn't a highly collectible item from UO, it would cost so much less.

Sounds much better than I've expected! Not as good as the deluxe variant but still nice. I couldn't imagine a better choice for a colored pressing of this album. I enjoy it more than the boxset.

Edited 3 years agoSome cracks and pops here and there (not too much to complain about it) this is for sure a great sounding pressing!! The alternate cover art for sure makes it worth it as well!! Both blue and violet records sound phenomenal!!!

as much as I love the cover art, I have to it this is probably one of the most overhyped Lana releases ever. My copy had lots of surface noise like other people mentioned, and the quality of the packaging isn’t all that great either. It feels really cheap. Still a great collectible but pretty disappointed with the overall quality. Kind of sad since this was at the top of my wantlist but I’m glad to own it anyway!
