"The tracks negotiate their way through shifts in tempo and rhythm expert in their pacing, choosing exactly the right moments to shift between blistering riffage and more mid-paced grooves. The coarse, buzzsaw snarl of the guitars is accentuated by bottom-heavy production. Partnered with Wiwczarek’s distinctive hoarse yells and tight drumming from James Stewart (a UK-based drummer recording with Vader for the first time) that emphasises steady timekeeping over elaborate flourishes or blastbeat overkill, and “Tibi et Igni” feels like a full-bodied, coherent whole, its component parts locking together to form a sleek, efficient mechanism."
