Edited 7 years agoEpic promo'd this set of mixes out to DJ's as a way to help promote MJ's "HIStory" greatest hits comp, and the results are extremely average.
While the "Megaremix" isn't too bad if you're looking for a taste of some of the best club mixes Jacko had up to that point, the Megamix is a total failure. It feels as if Epic forced Tony Moran to pack as many songs as possible into a 5 minute mix ("Now Tony ...not one second longer!!") and as a result it's just a mess. Especially the ending, where we get precisely 7 WHOLE SECONDS of Beat It, before the track suddenly ends. I trying to play this mix a couple times in my DJ days and both times the people on the dancefloor looked at me as it ended as if they were all thinking "WTF...That's it?!?"
The Urban Mix is a slight improvement, but not much better.
FYI the absolute greatest all-encompasing Michael medley can be found here if you can find a copy.
