Sounds like shit. Super noisy, muffled, and you have to crank it just hear it. Maybe I just got a dud, but I can't recommend this reissue

Fine sounding re- issue. Very catchy death metal! Although it does not have the name to be the best Carcass record, it still sounds great today.

I don't believe I have ever gotten a bad record from Earache. A true gem of a company, anyways this thing sounds absolutely great.

Edited 4 years agoGreat reissue! My copy sounds excellent throughout. No issues to report really.
Glad to have this on vinyl for a reasonable cost. A very good first impression of these Earache FDR series reissues. -
My copy was sealed with shrink wrap like the others have commented or alluded to as well but my vinyl was not affected. No warp or off center labels. Very happy to finally have this on FDR vinyl. I know it’s not the best Carcass album in of songwriting but I love Bill Steer’s guitar tone especially with Colin Richardson’s production. Ken Owen always has perfect drum beats too.

Side 2 of mine was pressed so far off-center that the wobble makes it unlistenable. I bought a piece of garbage, not a record.

My LP arrived with the box a bit deformed because of the plastic wrap being too tight, luckily insert and vinyl were spotless, but I can see in the near future copies the won't sell at once developing warping issues. I would recomend to remove the plastic wrap in its enterity the moment you get this. Sound is awesome and what a record this is!

Edited 11 years agoAlthough I was not happy at all with the last vinyl on the so called FDR that I bought some months ago, I decided to give a new chance to these Earache series by getting this album. This time everything sounds as a classic masterpiece re-release should (more over when you claim it to be kind of an "audiophile" item), and both the mastering and the vinyl are of very good quality. So thumbs up for the label in that side, the only minus that I found is that the folder packaging is still slightly lame for a record which is sold by 30 bucks + tax in most record stores. I've seen the "Covenant" repress and due to the fact that it's a gatefold it looks much better, hope the label switches to that quality for the chapters of the FDR series. Anyway, this is a worth catch in case you missed the original back in the days.
