As someone else said, 'Orange' would have been right at home on Fluoro alongside Man With No Name and virus.
'Skin on Skin' isn't the strongest Grace track, but it's far from the worst. The aforementioned Man With No Name goes in for some trippy Goa-soaked psychedlic, exactly as one would expect, whilst Oakenfold & Osborne work the commercial angle.
When 'Down to Earth' was re-released, the remix package included an overhaul of 'Skin on Skin' by Legend B, whose classic remix is way better than these versions. -
Edited 13 years agoThere was a lot of hype about this track before it was released. There was rumours that this track was named 'orange' after it was on the Goa Mix.
It was the same riff as the Perfecto remix of U2's Lemon of course and there was those 'sighting' that Paul Oakenfold played this track on an orange vinyl to the masses in his residency at Cream in Liverpool.
As a DJ, I was surpised that the "orange mix" turned up on the B side of an average comercial vocal mix. I thought it would have been releaed on the Perfecto Fluoro label.

Originally conceived and released as a remix for U2's "Lemon" (with appropriate Bono/Edge vocals), the fruit was turned on its head and made instrumentally "Orange" for a proper Perfecto release. The soft, come hither vocal from Grace transformed the piece further into a pop gem in its own right.
The Original "Orange" version is the subject of many live DJ mashups now, with the simple driving melody complimenting many different acapellas. Brilliant work from Oakenfold and Osbourne.
