This sounds absolutely awful. Seriously I cannot say this enough, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PURPLE LABEL PRESSINGS !
I don’t know how they are with other albums but this pressing sounds absolutely lifeless and dull. STAY AWAY YE HAVE BEEN WARNED AVAST THEE
I’m just confused as to why this sounds so much worse than my OG blue island label for example, maybe I’m overreacting but this sound sucks in comparison to my blue label and remaster.
Go with the remaster instead, it’s cheap, widely available and sounds fantastic. -
Not a bad sounding pressing especially finding a NM copy for $15. Was hoping to be wowed by it but didn't deliver what I hoped for in this album. Still can't complain with the quietness this copy has and there are some songs this thing does deliver on like Drowning Man and Refugee. -
This SP pressing didn’t sound good to me especially side 1. Side 2 actually sounded better but not by much in my opinion. Such a great album by U2. I will be looking for reviews on better pressings. my2¢
