I bought this thinking that the version as played by Paul Van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold on their Essential Mixes (20/04/1997 & 19/10/1997 respectively) was the Hardfloor Mix. After all, with its searing acid accentuating the intense vocals, it sounded just like the Hardfloor remix of 'Blue Monday' by New Order. How wrong I was. The Hardfloor mix is certainly worthy, in a slow burning acid meets trip hop kind of way, but it wasn't the mix I was expecting.

It so transpires that the version I am referring to is by none other than B.T, and it is by all s impossible to get hold of. I can't imagine why it was never released because it totally kicks arse, and turns the song from a sad tale of unrequited love into something all the more desperate and profound.
