      Red Jerry from Hoojs bandcamp:

"The original ltd double pack of this is amongst our favourite vinyl releases on the label. Add it to their remixes of Lustral and Cafe’ Del Mar, and Nalin & Kane might be our favourite artists to have appeared on the label.

We played no part in discovering N + K, or Beachball . Lisa Loud from FFRR / London Records had sent us over a DAT with four mixes on. The record was starting to happen on FFRR / Polygram’s German sister label, but they weren't seeing the immediate commercial potential for the UK. and wanted to see if we might try it out on vinyl, test the water. We listened to it all, then listened again, and then had to just play it cool with FFRR.

Four mixes from the Frankfurt duo ( 3 of which ended up on the dble pack) , 35 + minutes of seemingly endless space and texture, crisp punchy , rolling percussion-lead drums, that M1 bassline you could listen to forever, and hints of yearning and melancholy drifting through the melodies that seemed to speak of summers ing. As classy a release as appeared on Hooj, and most other dance labels of the time.

      “ Sure Lisa, it’s nice stuff, we’ll give it a go …. “

Beachball is a real BIG Anthem, everytime I hear it, "Ibiza!" comes to my head, it was THE track there back in 97-98, when Ibiza had that special feeling, I think that feeling has changed in the last years, that spiritual thing that this track captures.
