I'm not a Stones fan but I just wanted to salute the use of the format and the value for money factor it really puts the other releases in this series to shame - I'm looking at you Nirvana and Velvet Underground!
a few more releases like this and the Sex Pistol's Nevermind the Bollocks (which offers B-sides, rare soundboard gigs
and proper sleeve notes with recording dates ) and the format might have taken off
King Crimson/DGM have absolutely made this format their own with some stunning discs featuring entire tours, days worth of music!
but those are part of megabox sets for lunatics like me with no family obligations to eat up disposable income
so anyway well done Stones!
it feels like there was no overall vision for this series. this, the pistols and the Grace Jones releases should have been the norm -
This is an awesome collection of stones hits that sound really good. Ive also got the Grr vinyl box but I find myself listening to this more often.
