Perfect companion piece for anyone diving into Aesop Rock's early work. There's something far more tangible about holding a book of his lyrics and reading along versus the same experience on a cell phone screen. If you happen to find a copy in the wild, grab it. Avoid the recent reissue where it comes in a standalone jewel case and just contains the music. The lyric book is worth the cost alone. -

Edited 18 years agoIf you like any other Aesop Rock work, this is worth getting for the lyric book alone. It contains the lyrics from Float, Labor Days, Daylight EP, Bazooka Tooth and this EP.
This EP also contains some of his better tunes. Stand out tracks are the upbeat 'Rickety Rackety', 'Holy Smokes' -with the stories of his catholic upbringing, and my personal favourite; 'Food, Clothes, Medicine'. Not exactly mainstream rap, but very interesting beats and lyrics. If you like previous albums, you should like this.
