Edited 9 years agodecent album. they were the first to do the goth/rock thing really and made it really dark but interesting. didn't get the credit they deserved and were ripped of (more visually/concept wise than musically) by a host of bands that followed.

This album fits for the definition what Gothic Rock is about.
After all this years (21 years ago) it has stood for me the test of time as i still play this very regurly.
This album is not about the song-titles but is for me it is ONE song from the first note until the last note on this CD.
It feels like on a journey throughout my soul !!! -
This Album is simply amazing! Though "The Nephilim" recording was allready fantastic. Elyzium is still "THE Dark Wave Album" on such a high psychedelic and progressive level, nobody ever reached later on (Even the act itself could not repeat that quality!) yet. The whole Album appears as one hypnotizing Number in a way like poe described it in a "dream within a dream"!
