Edited 3 days agoAnother victim of an absolutely horrid copy. The cardboard sleeves weren't cut very well and left so much debris on the vinyl and just destroyed itself in shipping. Still haven't heard back from sony months later. I am beyond disappointed, I adore this album and even with my best go with my ultrasonic cleaner it's nearly unlistenable.

terrible pressing and packaging. I'm on my third copy, all 3 unlistenable thanks to the awful varnished cardboard innersleeves. gg sony

Edited one month agoSuch a beautiful recording. Had to wait quite a while to get this but it was well worth it! An album so good it makes me feel embarrassed to not know more Spanish than I do. Gotta get on that.

After a couple of weeks waiting for Sony to send another copy because the first one had a terrible scratch, I couldn't be more upset with this pressing. I love this album so much and this is so frustrating. I knew that, since it's a gatefold with plastified sleeves closed with shrinkwrap, it was bound to come a bit dirty. It came with a lot of scratches and some of them are actually noticeable pops during playback. Fucking Sony.

Edited 2 months agoMy pressing arrived with fingerprints and what seems like scratches, offcenter pressing also. Disc A Side A has heavy distortion on her voice and some instrumental loud peaks. So sad about this I freaking love this album…, the record store will replace it on the next couple weeks. Will update.

I’ve been waiting for this release on vinyl since its initial release. All I can say is Wow. Incredible music and sounds amazing. A must have.

Edited 3 months agoAfter waiting for what seems like an eternity for a reissue of this masterpiece, I finally acquired it and gave it multiple listens.
This near-silent pressing sounds like Natalia and a ing cast of musicians are in my room. It brings out the slide of Natalia's fingers across her acoustic guitar, vibrations of the bass strings, and push and pull between the hi-hats and auxiliary percussion. Marc Ribot's electric guitar is featured prominently near center, providing countermelodies to Natalia's voice. The song that came most to life during my listen was Muerte. The horn blasts were so chaotic yet beautiful alongside Natalia's calm delivery.
The soundstage is wide yet intimate. Emiliano Dorantes' piano on the right channel is a personal highlight. I can feel each note delicately played, creating complex interplay with the bass while complementing Natalia's melodies.
My only gripe is that I wish the album came with better sleeves. My two LPs came with a tremendous amount of dust, and I had to spend a lot of time cleaning them to ensure a near-silent album listen.
Other than that, this pressing is incredible sound-wise and will be part of my rotation of demonstration records. Bernie Grundman did a tremendous job mastering this album, and the album is up there with Aja in of sonic quality. And I am thankful to Natalia for releasing one of the best albums of the 2020s. -
Simply one of the best sounding recordings you'll add to your collection. Wonderful album all around.
