Pressing quality is fantastic, kudos to the new Fidelity pressing plant. Don't own another copy, but the sonics at first listen are great, excellent instrument separation, clarity is there too without being too bright, recommend!

Edited one month agoGreat quiet pressing with no audible inner groove distortion - I wish Fidelity were the ones pressing the Rhino High Fidelity series instead of Optimal. Bass is tight and well-controlled, but there's far too much treble on this cut imo. The cymbals and hi-hats on the first two tracks sound like someone's rattling tin foil in my ears.

Really good pressing! a few finger prints, but a little wash is always needed. Even without a clean, the wax is silent. Incredibly quiet. Record is flat and centered. Really impressed with Mobile fidelity's new pressing plant. I like the design of the logo on the inner sleeve. Would have liked a nice tip-on single jacket instead of direct to board. Still, the most important thing is the music... what an album! As ever, Chris Bellman delivers!

This sounds great, i will say though, some of the Hi-hats was a tad too piercing on some of the songs, but it is to be expected when the pressing sounds so crisp! I am not bothered at all. BUT somewhat bothering, i got it with a seam split. Its enough to annoy me, but not enough to have it replaced, what a pickle.

Edited 3 months agoI don't own an original 1977 pressing, but this 2025 Rhino Reserve pressing is beyond astounding. Well balanced and detailed soundstage with full-bodied bass that doesn't sound flabby or exaggerated. Everything flows just right, especially Eddie Hazel's dazzling guitar work. I'm equally happy that my copy is without defects (a very flat and centered thick 180 gram slab with no warpage). A highly recommended audiophile-grade reissue of an underrated funk-rock classic that deserves all of its praise from one of its all-time great figures.

Visible stitching on side 1, but thankfully didn’t affect play. Looks like MoFi’s new plant has some QC to improve, but otherwise an excellent pressing.

Great pressing and CB gets the snap right on the drum and bass and 3D sound stage wraps around the central guitar. $32 retail for AAA of an under rated classic on 180g. Would have actually happily paid a few $ more for nicer cover but at least I’m not struggling with LP every time unlike the Doors set. Thanks Rhino, keep them coming.

Very pleased with this pressing. Very tangible, three-dimensional image. Bass is nice and tight; very present but not overwhelming or gloopy. The album is a classic and this reissue is very welcome. The price is right, too. Rhino is pretty much hitting it out of the park these days. If your at all a fan of P-Funk or funk in general, grab this one immediately.
