The second album in the series on 'The American Composers' is called 'Stars and Hank Forever'. The side dedicated to Hank Williams is beautiful. The song “Six More Miles To The Graveyard” is plunged into a dark atmosphere that adds to its realism. Against all odds, “Kaw-liga” takes up the beat of Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” but with a distinctly weird key. When I was a DJ, every time I was playing The Residents, I was hoping that people resist the urge to leave. But with “Kaw-liga,” no problem …this piece was a success in most alternative clubs. The Torso label even release a 12 inch version stretched to 9 minutes with a particularly scathing guitar track. The B side, dedicated to John-Philip Sousa, is less spectacular but just as interesting. 'The American Composers Series' was abandoned because of the disappearance of the vinyl format that allowed to approach one composer per side.
