Reviews
-
Comparing the US version to the UK version prototype, the US release still stands as superior to my ears, sounding less like an extended EP and a lot more whole and complete like an album, holding together better than the original sequence of tracks.
-
This release is actually a compilation and not Orbital's "real" first album.
Unfortunately, the mix of Midnight is an edit of the 12" version, but it is better than the "live" mix that appears on the non-US versions of this album. -
Apart from obvious classics Belfast and Chime, you also get the first version of Satan, which is not quite the nasty, angry, frothing-at-the-mouth monster it is now, but does have some brilliant noises in it. Other highlights include the noisy Choise, the sublime Midnight, and Desert Storm, which is full of Eastern promise.
