I agree with previous comments that the artwork upgrade is a miss, but it's not terrible; however personally I'd have preferred a faithful reproduction of the original. Also agree they're fairly dusty out of the sleeve but that's par for the course these days, I clean all my new vinyl.
Ultimately what matters is the sound and I have no complaints there. Not audiophile but clear, punchy, balanced, dynamic. No surface noise and none of the inner groove distortion others report.

After reading some less good reviews, and the fact that it was a GZ Media press, made me apprehensive about buying this edition, but I still decided to take a chance, and I'm glad I did. It sounds beautiful to me, no background noise, no annoying pops and clicks. The only negative point is the fact that one of the inner sleeves has a vertical tear on one of the spines, caused by the record... I don't like it, but I can deal with it well. -
Edited 11 months agoThis might be one of the most disappointing RSD releases ever. A huge downgrade visually (what happened to the cover art?!) and soundwise (did they ever hear what they've pressed?!). Both records were so dirty there was no way I'd listen to them without giving them a bath!
There is no life in this master, everything is dumbed down, there's no dynamic range, it's utterly boring to listen to. I have an OG and it's night and day in comparison. The pops and clicks are way too frequent as well, even after a thorough vacuuming.
Also, there's a critical technical flaw that ruins the experience even further : just like my Rapture and Juju copies from 2018, it's printed with the inner-groove distortion baked in.
Abbey Road Half-Speed master my buttocks. -
I wish I could sing the praises of most everyone else here, but I just threw this on today finally and am horribly disappointed.
The first 3 songs on each side are able, but the 4th has some of the most egregious inner groove distortion I've heard on any record. Every drum, guitar and vocal line is followed by a lingering echo of static that almost made me think this was ripped from an AM radio feed or something. This pressing deserved far better. -
Edited one year agoYet another classic from my late teens!
I had no idea this reissue hit the market on the last RSD until a few days after; quickly bought on Discogs from a local retailer (to avoid a few hours out of my weekend).
I watching the video at a friend's house when this first came out... on VHS!
The CD has been in my collection for two or three decades and well played.
Been wanting a near mint original vinyl as there wasn't a reissue... until now!
Yes... the cover has been slightly altered, and no additional tracks (as mentioned below), but no complaints!
This pressing sounded fantastic right out of the sleeve!
The mastering is clean and clear; vinyl is practically perfect IMO; band is in fine form and tearing it up!
My CD sounds great, but this vinyl enhances the already superb live sound and is so much better!
Don't second guess this... just buy it. -
My copy of this pressing sounds great on my HiFi for a live album. Only minor pops in the runout, but no noise on the lead in, and tracks. I only have a memory of this album to compare it to. I haven't heard it since I was in college in the 1990's. Artwork is meh, but it sure sounds good.

This is the best version of this album that I have heard. I used to have an original German pressing, and this release has better sonic details--AND the treble is not boosted like earlier Banshees reissues done at Abbey Road at half-speed.

not very pleased with this release i own a japanese press and sounds way much better . i complain bout this rsd release being poor in term of sound and flat . doesnt sound alive so not reccomended

Edited one year agoI have loved this album for a VERY loooong time. My friends & I used to skip school at this girl's house sometimes & she had the VHS companion. We'd watch it over n' over........Pulled To Bits is, by far, the best track on it, but the entire album is a gem. Wish The Creatures would get around to some reissues.
I have to agree that the new packaging is rather lax compared to the original, but the poster is a great addition. If it were up to me though, I would've used silver-embossing on the logos and/or the fireworks in the background, but whatever.
Love finally having this album again....
