Be great if (in addition to) reviewers of repress qualities could also turn their hand to reviewing the music, its like Discogs has become an audiophile's spitting ground...
To The 5 Borough's' is a good LP, peppered with some standout & unmissable music from the trio (their final days as the full ensemble which makes this kinda special, regardless of the 'best Beasties LP' pecking order).
Sure, by now we had the best from them, & that's a natural process as art needs energy, culture & the fire of inspired young minds all to often to be truly potent. But compared with the music of many a late offering from the 'once were great's' out there, this stands firm & tall.
The Beastie Boys will always be great. -
Edited 2 years agoDecent album, a little to slick and polished sounding, and worse I feel that the Beastie Boys are at their best when they are not lecturing me about their politics. However, still a decent record despite its many flaws. Their worst album, but that says a lot about how good their output was.

Is the US version also a gatefold ? I have a copy that is a gatefold and has no mention of being either a UK or European release. It matches the US version identically save for being a gatefold. Can some one please ?
