One of those rare albums that's so good, it's almost overwhelming to listen to in one sitting. And then you've got "a something extra" with another four songs! I love the sound on this original pressing, the low end is rich and deep, instrumentation is lush and layered, and the soundstage is wide and full-bodied. My copy is in mighty fine shape, with the two LPs playing nice and clean with barely any surface noise. The 7" record is also fairly clean and quiet, but does have a couple of faint pops during "Saturn". Good stuff.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky ones that heard this in 1976. It is not only his best work, to me this best album ever released. It's just as potent now as it was in 1976. Only few albums can say that. Although he stumbled with that "Plants" stuff, his work from 1972-1980 was unparalleled. This was his peak. 21 songs, all thriller no filler. The way albums SHOULD be.

Still to this day how great it felt to listen to this record last year in high-school, 30 years back! It was the soundtrack for that winter of my life, among a few other albums, such as Joni Mitchell's Blue. I listened to it inside and outside of home, on school bus, while walking on the sea ice (it was that cold). I was then relieved the school ended :) This made it all the more easy to get over with. It's a timeless piece of art that won't get old. They will listen to it 500 years into the future :) They will marvel it like a Leonardo da Vinci piece. But Stevie, where did ya go? A Time 2 Love was nice but we are all expecting more! 5/5

My godmother blessed me with her record collection from the 70s. This gem was in there like bland new. This masterpiece is timeless. One of the best albums of all time!

I personally feel side A is the strongest side out all four sides. This is not to demean the album, the whole album is great. But nothing can beat "Contusion" following into "Sir Duke".
