If you know Chilton's story you know this was album he was destined to make. That is after he expunged all the experimental forces and demons spawn from his days as a pop darling and major alt-rock influence. This is Alex playing his music his way. You either appreciate his unashamed devotion to the material blanketed in his stylistic approach, or you don't. By the time of these recordings he's completely outlived what his critics might think one way or another.
