Edited 2 months agoAy, caramba ! What a sensational pressing. Humongous bottom-end and super-warm mastering. Timeless LP, beautifully reissued and remastered with love.

Got this 2023 black and white reissue recently and it is fantastic – the cleanest record I've ever heard. A flawless press, with punchy bass and sweeping stereo, in achingly beautiful white marble wax that perfectly fits the cover design. This is a special release, and I'm over the moon with it.

An essential 1990s album done justice with an appropriate colour scheme, a great sound and the full package.
-
Very impressive sound quality on this marbled vinyl which is pleasing as I only just recently bought the re-issued black vinyl but its one of those rare gems that you don't mind owning a few copies of.

Good pressing. Not as great as the 3LP but a good sounding copy of the version originally released on CD. If you’re going to do a colour variant then I prefer it when they take the trouble to make it complimentary to the album artwork, this delivers with a couple of records that blend beautifully with the background of the artwork.

Sounds epic, layered soundscape, deep bass, and plays clean and clear. Poly lined sleeves always great to see. Very happy with this release.

An outstanding quality pressing that can sound really really good, is packaged well and all at a non scalper price (for now)!
Long Review:
So i had no luck with the 2023 black copy... both were hideously non filled rip fests. Pictures on Amazon UK say it all. I was gutted because i love the album but didnt want to be scalped for an oop issue. I was therefore equally delighted and skeptical about this coloured repress. Would Pallas screw up the pressing for me again? How will it sound? Well, the most positive news is the pressing itself is nigh flawless. Not only is this a much cooler lookin' slice of wax (x2) than the black one, its also groove defect free and can be enjoyed at near utter silence throughout. Its flat and bang on centre. Pressings dont get much better and its the usual Pallas high quality.
How does it sound? Hmmm, well it sounds like digital recording and mastering on vinyl. Fine but perhaps pointless? Ultimately the CD still has a lower noise floor, with all of the positives and none of the negatives. Additionally on my two players, my Debut Pro with 2M Red has some sssibilance issues with Original vocals and the presence region can be abit coarse which with some records that are not cut to perfection this cart will aurally expose. To get the best from this LP a bonded elliptical wont cut it (ahem) and a fine line or better such as the Jico Sas of my old Shure does a much cleaner job and levels this with the CD. Overall then a fine mastering that CAN match the CD if you spend enough money on the rig/cart to get it there.
At £30 for a perfectly pressed, nicely packaged CD on 2xLP vinyl its a fair cop in todays market, but if you only want to enjoy the music then the CD plainly makes more sense for this album what with the way its produced/mastered etc.
