Finally got around to spinning this and I’m actually taken aback by the sound quality. Phenomenal. Clean, flat pressing without so much as a pop or a click. Vocals can get a little lost in the mix, but the instrumentation is just fantastic.
-
My copy sounds great. I don't know how these other people are having such issues. Seems to me some of these lengthy reviews may be just blathering on to sound important.

As far as performances go, these are among Jack's best. Sound quality wise, this is just not good. Muffled highs, completely absent bass frequencies, lifeless sound with zero punch, dynamic compression and limiting abound. As another reviewer pointed out down below me, yes, the Nugs.net s sound a bit better than this, but they are pretty anemic too. They are just so heavily compressed and limited!
For a guy who released two of the best sounding CDs ever without compression or heavy limiting (Blunderbuss and Lazaretto), I can't figure out why Jack & TMR haven't repeated that successful audiophile-grade formula since then. Those albums sold plenty, and pleased audiophiles and collectors alike. (Well, at least on CD. The LP of "Lazaretto" is dreadful.)
This is just the latest in a series of mis-fires in of sound quality with Jack White. The last 3 albums were so dull and bereft of life on CD and vinyl. "Fear of the Dawn" was one of the hardest rocking albums in years, but it was completely marred by poor post-production and subpar mastering. Nothing comes close to how awful the CDs of "Icky Thump" and "Sea of Cowards" were, but it's still trending in the completely wrong direction. While TMR once touted some of their LPs being all-analog without any digital post processing, it's a shame to see album after album get the slammed "loudness war" treatment.
With the ERC release of "White Blood Cells" getting lukewarm reviews at best, I wonder if we will ever see an attempt from Mr. White and his cohorts to release an audiophile grade release again. At least we will always have aforementioned CDs (which are even better in 24-bit), the original SH/KPG cut of "Icky Thump," the all-analog recuts of TWS' LPs, and the wonderful KPG-cut of The Raconteurs' "Consolers Of the Lonely."
In short, A+ performances, B- sound, at best. -
unfortunately in this edition I had no luck. the white and blue vinyl came with quite a bit of warp. a pity.
-
Another great release from JW and TMR. The wax is flawless and quiet. No noise or popping. This pressing is first rate.
-
The track listed as #6 from side C is actually track #1 on side D. Same error is shown in the track listing here on Discogs.

Excellent live album set. All records play with almost no unwanted bg noises. All vinyl flat and centred. One of the best pressings from TMR that I've received. The sound quality also excellent and well balanced. The 3rd Lp in the set is the standout. Leave it to Jack to do a cover song relevant to each tour city then put many of them on one Lp. Considering the tracks on this release come from multiple concerts the sound levels and mixing are superb. Nothing to fault here. Equipment.. Rega P8 MC Apheta 2 cartridge, Rega P3 Exact MM, PMC Fact 12, Rega phono pre, Bryston BR20, Bryston 14B3. When I saw him on the Supply Chain tour he did a different version of Lazaretto. I wish that was on here. Also, there are other covers not included. Wouldn't mind hearing those without paying a streaming service to do so. Maybe Jack can put out a digital version of the tour on Flac/HI Res for purchase.

I've seen a lot of positivity about this release on reddit and some other spots, and I disagree.
First off, I'll say that Disc 1 and 3 sound great. Flat, quiet, overall great pressings. Disc 2 suffers the same fate as most TMR white pressings: it is loud even after multiple cleanings. It is a shame they chose the quiet show to be pressed on the loudest vinyl. The 7" looks really cool, but it too is super noisy.
As far as content goes:
The entirety of the package lacks bass and suffers from an over reliance on treble. It leaves everything feeling top heavy and thin. I compared the recordings here to the recordings on nugs and found that, while this was a problem with the original recordings, the port over to vinyl caused them to suffer more. There is definitely more presence from the nugs recordings. I thought maybe it was just a problem with my turntable, but I compared the Tip From Me To You single to the digital release, and they sound identical, so I am going to say it is a mastering for vinyl issue.
Disc one and two contain great live artifacts of the new albums, so no complaints there.
Disc three is a novel compilation of covers and jams from the tour, which is fantastic! A great idea. Unfortunately in execution not as well done. They've decided to stitch the tracks together chronologically, which makes sense for a tour document, but leaves some questionable transitions. It is almost like an intern copied and pasted files into audacity and called it a day. Very little blending between tracks, abrupt changes, and some volume irregularities. Again, a shame, as this kind of compilation could be really cool. It still is, and I don't mean to be overly harsh, it just could've been so much better.
In comparison to recent Vault releases, this is a keeper. It has great content and half of it is pressed really well. I do think it is a positive release overall, it just could've been much better.
I'd give it a 6/10 and recommend you supplement with the nugs.net recordings.
