Notes
This version is the "first label, revised cover" version:
Dark green labels with a whole apple on the A-side and a half, sliced-open apple on B-side. The labels have the ("An E.M.I. Recording") text on two lines and small "33 1/3" text moved to the left side. Publishing year printed with a small ℗ symbol. The B-side label does not have "Her Majesty" credits. The labels are quite dark, although the actual shade of green varies between copies.
Comes in a fully laminated cover without flaps on the back side. The front cover has the drain showing, the rear cover has the Apple logo aligned with the text.
Another distinguish trait of this pressing is the alternate indenting style on the last two lines of Side B ("Northern Songs. NCB" is by itself on the last line).
℗ 1969
Mfd. in U.K.
Some copies were packaged with a die-cut black inner sleeve.
"Thanks to George Martin, Geoff Emerick and Phillip McDonald"

I've heard this album many times but i haven't experienced many musical moments as powerful as listening to the side 2 medley on this -2/-1 press. Unbelievable. For me when I first heard "You Never Give Me Your Money" starting the medley it was comparable to the first time I heard "Whole Lotta Love" on a RL record, although this sures it. I have a very modest setup and this record gets the most out of it. It's already regarded as a masterpiece album, but the original uk pressings are definitive. Wow
-
Besides the stately designation of greatest record to have ever been laid on wax, I would consider this pressing to be nothing short of stunning. These UK pressings (included here are nominal famous records that others should own) hold their own while having an outstanding performative element other records can be stalled without. I'm no audiophile, but I can hear an impressive sound when it's flown out in front of me. If you ever have the chance to add this particular record in this exact pressing, don't be afraid of the opportunity. It's worth it's weight...

I gotta say this particular pressing is OUTSTANDING. I thrifted this copy years ago, cleaned it up a little and despite some light scratches & hairlines, the sound is INCREDIBLE. There's great clarity here that simply blows away my US copy that is much cleaner looking than this one. So, seek out one of these! You won't be sorry.

Edited one year agoSellers, please stop listing the 1971 repress with the larger copyright ℗ under this release. If it's the same size as the "1969" next to it on the right side of the label, it's a repress, and not the original 1969 pressing, which has a smaller ℗.

The attention to detail in this pressing is simply awe-inspiring. Every instrument and vocal comes to life with astonishing clarity, immersing you in a world of sonic bliss. The soundstage is expansive, allowing each element to breathe and occupy its own space, creating a captivating and immersive listening experience.
This pressing elevates the music to a whole new level. The warmth and depth are unparalleled, giving the tracks a rich and textured quality that is truly breathtaking. The low end is punchy and tight, the highs shimmer with crystalline brilliance, and the midrange is perfectly balanced, allowing the nuances of the music to shine through.
The dynamic range is nothing short of impressive. The soft moments are delicate and intimate, while the soaring crescendos hit with explosive impact, drawing you into the emotional journey of the album. Meticulously mastered and pressed with such quality, every note is reproduced with utmost fidelity.
This 1st UK pressing of Abbey Road stands as a testament to the enduring power of The Beatles' music and the artistry of the recording process. Whether you're a dedicated fan or an avid audiophile, this pressing is an absolute must-have for its extraordinary sonic fidelity, leaving you in awe of the immersive musical experience it delivers. A Sonic Masterpiece!

This pressing is POWERFUL with all the air, shimmer, and punch! The sound is just explosive yet perfectly balanced. I have an original US press and the new remix, this stomps over both of those. The original US copy still sounds pretty good and was my reference copy, however this -2/-1 UK is leagues better in my opinion. The soundstage is so real and immersive, what an experience to listen to.

Edited 2 years agoA true masterpiece of a pressing. This is exactly how Abbey Road should sound. It's warm, clear, and rich with the perfect amount of bass. Everything in the mix is where it needs to be.

What a spectacle to listen to. A beast of a record full with lustre and punch. I own some copies of this album (my favorite Beatles) but never heard it this good as with this pressing. Very very impressed!
