Complete blind buy from Target based on the reputation of Kendrick I've heard over the years. Straight out of the paper sleeves :absolutely dead silent flat wax sides 1-3, a few seconds here and there of low crackles on side 4, wet wash might clean up, however, excellent soundstage, well balanced bass, treble and midrange make this a nice pickup! -
Compared to my EU black 2015 pressing (https://discogs.versitio.com/release/7345404-Kendrick-Lamar-Good-Kid-mAAd-City) this is superior in every way. Punchier, clearer more forward vocals, better detail, less surface noise. -
Compared the audio of this pressing to https://discogs.versitio.com/release/13702739-Kendrick-Lamar-Good-Kid-MAAd-City and I can say this pressing is superior. While the Clear version is quieter, which is by design to allow for dynamics, this pressing is punchy, and loud with very little surface noise. The vocals are up in the mix which makes me wonder if they didn't remaster the audio as much as doing a slight remix to the album to bring certain elements to the forefront including upping the vocals. All in all, this is the version I am going to keep on the shelf and the other copy I am putting in my archive crate. Go get this!
