Sorry, Kendrick, but this just doesn’t sound great…
I preordered it on day one and was beyond excited for it to arrive. But unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing.
Even after giving it a proper wet clean with a record cleaning machine, the same issues persist—lots of surface noise, a compressed sound, and a mix that just doesn’t feel right. On top of that, the inserts are way too thin and already have big circle marks from the vinyl.
Really wish the quality was better because the music itself deserves a much stronger pressing. -
Side A sounds a bit off
Side B sounds awful for the first half and then sounds okay
Side C and D sound pretty good
-
My pressing sounded bad, I got rid of it almost immediately. Thankfully GNX is much better, I was scared bc of this pressing. Got the cassette instead and it sounds better

Edited 4 months agoNo major issues. It actually sounds pretty amazing after a thorough wet cleaning. Did I say perfect? No, but it’s very listenable.
-
My first disc has a misplaced hole punch, the music is barely pitched up as I play it now and it sounds just slightly off to raise eyebrows. Anyone else have this issue?
-
My pressing sounds fine. Good dynamic range, no pops, and no surface noise issues. Mine came clean and static free out of the sleeve. My copy has "Vinyl Made In Mexico" printed on the back, so maybe there is where the difference is.

It seems like the second number in the runoff, for example 01020103 on side a, might vary by pressing. I own this and everything is the same except for that value.
Here are mine:
side a 01010101
side b 01010104
side c 01010630
side d 01010115 -

very frustrating spending $50 on a record and it having this much surface noise. Probably one of the worst pressings I have (that I bought new) when it comes to random pops and general surface noise
