About 15 years ago I walked into Jammyland record store in NYC. (long closed) I was the only person in the store when the Dreadlocked store clerk started playing More Relations over the stores speakers. Within about two songs I walked over to him and asked
“what’s that you’re playing?”
“More Relations” he answered.
“Is it for sale?”
“Well actually the lead singer of the band came in here about a week ago and sold us his last 20 copies. We have 4 left!”
“I’d like to buy all 4 please!”
One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I cannot stress enough how incredible this album is. Not a single shit song. One of my top 5 roots/reggae albums of all time and sadly it’s super obscure.
Definitely needs a proper respectful ReIssue ASAP.

too expensive the real rootsman have not 200euro babylon fall

This is one of these albums you are going to have to get an extra job or rob an bank to be able to afford (well, maybe not but + $200.00 for a vinyl is still quite a lot). It looks funny to see a bunch of dreads in a snowy landscape, wearing warm coats. This was not an Jamaican based group, pretty much all I know about them is that they where from “New York” and that this was their only Lp (they did a few singles also). It’s much appreciated and very rare, hence the price.

Those of you who like real, traditional bands with musicians composing will be in for a treat, I could not recognize even one common rhythm on this album. They play 70ies style “Roots Reggae” with the occasional lovers tune thrown in for a bit of variety. Among my favorites on here is “Jahovia’s kingdom” about “Zion” where milk and honey flow, the organ heavy “Brave” and the more upbeat “Cartoon character” which is the song with the most hit potential and is about shallow persons.

Over all there really are no weak tunes on here and I never found myself skipping any songs, if you are lucky to find if for a reasonable price or have deep pockets id say t’s a good buy. I often found myself comparing their sound to the more rootsy tunes of “Errol Dunkley” but it seem as if the band share the singing responsibility as there is a very varied sound on here all while always being “Roots Reggae” Besides this album they only released a few singles and never became very popular which is a shame. Time for some re-release label like maybe “Only Roots” or “Iroko” to make this available to an larger audience!!!
