Incredible pressing though my copy does have a little bit of sibilance but it could just be groove damage
-
Fantastic sounding release. Bass is fine! Much better than the later japanese pressings (I compared a lot of them)!!!
-
Compared to my 1971 UK copy this is a real in-your-face cut! I could hear 'the room' on some tracks and the vocals stand out beautifully. A real vibrant and lively sound! The hefty laminated sleeve is a beauty too 😊

This stereo Japanese 1st pressing sounds terrific. The stereo panning and soundstage are kind of archaic but to fun effect—the sound is enormous. The bass lends to a darker sounding record than subsequent Japanese releases of Revolver. The jacket is laminated heavy-stock and holds up through time extremely well. The dark red vinyl looks gorgeous too. The subsequent remaster/releases OP-8443 or AP-8443 are warm and lovey sounding records with some of the primitive harshness of this record’s sound smoothed out for better overall balance. Still, I thoroughly enjoy listening to this first pressing of Revolver.

In 2021 I purchased a copy of this LP and the red vinyl had all kinds of heat damage. The seller replaced it with another copy he had that looked perfect, but had an invisible defect which caused it to skip through the first song on both sides.
MORAL: Don't buy a copy of this UNLESS it's been play-graded, not just visually graded!
