Sounds amazing and looks great (both the vinyl and the artwork). I'm not sure how this version is Ltd, since it can be found literally EVERYWHERE, but whatever! -
Edited one year agoI got say, I wasn't crazy over any of the variants of the album, In my opinion they were pretty underwhelming.
That's why I got this variant, I have been curious about this Obi variants for a while and since I wanted this album on vinyl cause it's such an amazing album (Musically, definitely one of the strongest albums of the year so far).
But, I got to say, I don't know about the indie pressing, but this pressing sounds amazing, I've had this album on repeat since it came out and I found myself listening to new details on the pressing that I didn't have the change on the Spotify version. I'm completely in love with the sound this album has on vinyl, for me it's worth it.
Now, the Obi thing, I think it's a cool detail, in my opinion, if you're getting the grey variant (which I think fits the album, for the cold tones that this album has chromatically talking) It's worth to get this variant, I like how it's a nice detail to have the paper thing and it's numbered, we collectors love a good numbered variant hahaha. -
Edited one year agoThe only other Assai OBI Release I own is “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” and I was much more impressed with that release compared to this one. The OBI for “Crash” is wrapped around both sleeves of the gatefold so it’s hard to open it up and appreciate the gatefold art or even take out the record. The Printed OBI is nice but doesn’t line up exactly with the cover. It just feels lazy. I will say it was packaged well and arrived in the US with absolutely zero flaws after being in transit for 2+ weeks. It’s cute but didn’t feel worth it. I guess it’s better than just owning the regular indie grey. -

Fantastic pressing. No inner groove distortion on my copy. Booming bass, highs are crispy and loud. No clipping on Charli’s vocals, mixing is clear and balanced. B5 “Used to Know Me” does sound like an alternative version. Vocals are slightly different to the streaming version, there is a new adlib after the first chorus, production sounds more faithful to the original sample as well. Thought that was interesting, probably an earlier mix was turned in. Packaging is very pretty. Printed inner sleeve, lyric insert, full photo gatefold jacket. -
On my copy there was some distortion on Used To Know Me and Twice, but after a few spins they are mostly gone. Might have to give it a more thorough clean (i played after cleaning it with only a record cleaning brush, which is usually enough). Overall an amazing record, has deep bass and I am absolutely in love with the color! Gonna update later abt the cleaning -
Some loud pops at the end of Lightning and at the start of Every Rule. Gave it a good clean but unfortunately they're still there. Otherwise a good pressing with no static or pops on any of the other tracks.
