As a business owner this is a bad record on all s, First it's not the best from what adele could do.
Too many fillars, and then comes the price plan.... First 5 months the prices could not be dropped because of the record company.
We had to put more than 40% on top and that's on a return.. We're getting srewed by everyone sideways.
Now we are left with a ton of LP's Nobody want anymore.... I have a total of +100 vinyl :( -
this is a great pressing, a little sibilant but nothing major. vinyl is mostly quiet, i haven't weighed the discs but they do feel a little less than 180g. i could be wrong though.
ive never been a huge fan of Adele, but i always had an appreciation for her music. i still believe someone like you is one of the best songs ever written.
this album completely blew me away. when i heard the first single, i rolled my eyes - more of the same old adele. but once i finally heard the entirety of the album, it was clear that she is more than just a one trick pony. of course there are still the things that make her "Adele"; soulful vocals, R&B influences. But this album expanded on a lot of previous limitations. 25 was very pop oriented, and overall a generally weak album. This album not only expands her musical palette, but also her lyrical one. Woman Like Me is dark and direct. Strangers by Nature is a sweeping and mournful opener. The song that stands out on this album for me is To Be Loved. Lyrically, it is one of her strongest songs. Vocally, one of her best performances. A towering ballad running for nearly seven minutes, she takes her time in painting a portrait of someone so broken by love but who doesn't want to give up on it. It is easily one of the best songs of the decade so far. Of course there are some weaker moments. Can I Get It has to be one of her worst songs, obviously made for radio, with the obligatory Max Martin hook. The "folky" stomp/acoustic guitar/handclap/whistle production sounds painfully 2013. Oh My God falls into a similar category as the aforementioned.
Overall this stands as her best work. Were 500,000 vinyl copies of this necessary? Absolutely not. These will be sale bin staples in a few months, along with ABBA and Ed Sheeran. I've already seen at least one copy of this album go through a used record store. But this is still an excellent effort, and it proves that sometimes major pop stars can still put out artistically meaningful albums, without chasing trends or streams. -

Edited 3 years agoI don't think this is a GZ pressing. I think that this is a Memphis Record Pressing. Yes. GZ owns MRP now but this wasn't pressed in the Czech Republic.
