Edited one year agoChuffed with my copy. Its abit lighter weight i feel than the black version and being white playtesting is a must. Took a couple of spins and a deep clean in the Degritter (because card inners) but pressing is nice and quiet, flat enough and most importantly features very full dynamic sound worthy even of showing a high end system off with. Mine is on par with the 3LP set ive got which is even better for the bonus disc but this is £15 on Amazon whereas the 3LP box is going around 3 times that price so if you just want the main event this or the 2lp black version will do nicely. One small thing is i returned a copy which had spindle holes on the tight side. The second copy is just the same so i did use a trusty biro so help the holes and its fine now!

Edited one year agoThe mix for this 2021 reissue is somewhat different from the original mix in various places. I have noticed that on the chorus of "Breaking Up The Girl" you can hear a loud percussion sounding like a handclap that is at a much lower volume on the original. On "Parade" there is a chorus sound effect on the vocals during the chorus that is not in the original mix. I have noticed some small differences in the mixes for "Shut Your Mouth" and "Cherry Lips" too.
Further listening might reveal some other differences.
All in all this is more a remix approach than a simple remastering. -
Edited 2 years agoSound: fantastic & clear sound, no cracks, no pops or any other background noise
Records: slightly warped but play fine, spindle hole of LP2 too tight, very difficult to take it off the player, black smudges on both sides of LP1 -
My record was absolutely perfect. No pops, no warps, no issues with spindle holes, great dynamics, great quality sound as always from Garbage records this reissue really packs a punch. Great re-issue, and it’s been a long time coming.

Edited 3 years agoAhh - I've always read reviews on other new vinyl releases about getting 2 of the same side on both records. Well, this finally happened to me - I received 2 Side A/B records. Also, one of the records had a groove warp - where the needle sways from right to left, but it played fine. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a replacement.
UPDATE: I exchanged my copy, but now, the spindle hole on record #2 was too tight. I had to widen the hole a little bit. Also, my replacemnt copy had stands of wax hanging off the edges. They looked like hair, but it was the white wax. -
Agree with the spindle hole issue but my copy arrived and both records were fine apart from a few small rough edges. No warping whatsoever. They sound amazing too.

ordered mine from hmv uk online, spindle holes are tiny, would need drilling out to play. both discs warped. also got a horrid black smudge in the white vinyl on side 3. it's getting sent back.

Light curve on a/b side. Flat and really lovely on c/d. The colour is very pristine white, Nobody Loves You sounds wonderful. Should get Bleed Like Me next. That’s a holy grail when it comes.

Edited 3 years agoI hesitate to post this, as one defective record doesn't mean they're all bad. But has anyone got a problem with a distorted digital rip-like sound on Side 1, track 2 'Adrogyny'? I'm going to have to exchange my copy. Yes, the spindle hole was too tight, but this was easily sorted with a drill bit. And yes it was warped into a slight bowl shape, but this didn't affect playback in the slightest. I don't expect records to be perfect, but distorted sound is a deal breaker... :) [Edit: got another copy, which is fine]
