Well I used to own a copy of this bootleg (bought in 80/81) and always thought it moved along very nicely.
Loved the intro with Sergio Mendes. Always wondered what the full versions of the Dr Savanna and THP tunes were like (never heard them in a club environment). Thanks to Discogs marketplace I now have all three.
Unfortunately I lost Funky Mix. Not sure where it went. Maybe it's time to pick it up again. Well worth it. -
About half way through the funky mix side and you hear the beginning of house music as we came to know it. Every time I listen to this track and then take the record off the deck I feel I’m holding a piece of musical history in my hands … don’t get that with digital 😀 -
I have a doubt about the year of issue on the label: 1980• The « Playback - space invaders » mixed on b side was issued in 1981…

This record is the one that Jesse Saunders used for years in the early 80's for his Dj sets. As fate would have it, Jesse's copy was stolen one night and he decided he would recreate the track himself and press it up. It was "On and On" by "Jesse Saunders" on his label "Jes Say" records. The 1st ever house track to be pressed!! Although I love both versions... I do prefer Mach's Version.
