Edited 3 years agoLismor did fantastic live recordings of various whisky championships, but their studio recordings of great pipers tend to fall flat, and the pipes can be dull to listen to. That's the case for track 1. Track 2 is from the 1984's Grant's Piping Championship: Ceol Mor — Piobaireachd, and from my digital purchase of that album it was a problem on the LP, and the worst of the bunch there also, sound-wise. Tracks 3-5 are worth the purchase price and much improved, though the source is unknown to me because the booklet, though verbose about the history and structure of the Big Music, says nothing about sources.
