Really excellent package at a reasonable price. Decent vinyl quality, good mastering. Some of his best songs on here, killer versions abound. Shout out to Jokermen podcast.
-
An honest review of this box from someone who was really looking forward to it. While the material is fantastic and eye-opening (hugely underrated period of Dylan's), my copy is noisy on every disc after cleaning. Plenty of ticks and pops that distract. A couple significant warps as well. Also mastered WAY too quiet, which amplifies surface noise when you have to turn up your stereo louder than you normally would. Sound quality is decent to good, which is just based on the source material. The box presentation is fantastic with plenty of things to look at/read. Still happy to own for an archivist's sake, but they could have put more love into the sonics/pressing quality rather than the physical box and visuals.
-
This one release of outtakes by Dylan is better than most other’s best material. I can’t get enough of this or the 2 LP version (all different tracks across the 6 LPs).
-
I love this record. I had no issues with pops or surface noise on any of the four disks. My only issue is that the outer slip case was slightly damaged. Combine this with the 2 lp set and I think you have the entire 5cd box set on record minus the Sweet Caroline cover which I honestly don’t want to hear anyway.
-
This is a MUST HAVE for any Dyan fan. The alternate takes are exciting to hear. The rehearsal tracks give the listener an insight into what music Bob enjoyed playing live. The musicianship is second to none. My pressings are better quality than what normally comes from Columbia/Sony. I don't care for color vinyl, but am happy to overlook it because TMR clearly put love into their pressings. I hope this isn't the last Bootleg series we see from TMR.
-
Weird sound on this one. Compare it to the 2LP set or the CD release. Heck, even the stream. This sounds like a mono cassette recording compared to the other versions. Did they use different mastering for this? It’s very odd.
-
I find this a pretty darn good pressing, Probably had four pops, but other than that, its clear, smooth,(Have not given it a clean other than a brush) Maybe a bit low in volume but that is easily fixed. Some great tracks, Glad i have it.
-
Sound is excellent but a fair few pops throughout the 4 albums. Tried cleaning a couple times but these are pressing faults sadly.
-
it's sad to see 43 copies available for sale, it just means people bought it to resale it. I hope us that really do want it, and hadn't heard about it before, get to purchase it at a reasonable price.
-
I don’t understand the release date when many already had it. Third man goes opposite in name. Walter Sobchak would be released and received a month earlier.
