Bought it for 25 euros and very I'm happy with it. My copy is perfect except 1 *really* small pop on the B side. Absolute masterpiece of a album!

Picked up this reissue for $30.00 at my local store. Here is my first listen through take:
Sure, I definitely here what everyone else heres throughout track #1, "Idle Moments," but track #2 sounds a lot cleaner, though it is a more raucous song so that might block out some of the zapping or fuzzy sounds heard on track #1. Track #3, or track #1 on Side B is also pretty quiet, though at the very beginning maybe there is some noise but it's hard to tell if that's simply from a bit of dirt as opposed to an "issue." Track 4 sounds lovely. Overall, his press sounds VERY Good. Is it GREAT, or AMAZING, maybe not, but honestly it sounds very good, still. Music: 9/10. Press: 8.5/10.
P.S. - Unrelated but if you are getting into jazz and you don't particularly love vibraphone/vibes, and you see that Bobby Hutcherson is on vibes on this, don't fret: this is a subtle use of vibes and it sounds great. They compliment the main guitar melody quite well on "Django." So blind buy this record if you love Green - you won't be dissapointed. -
I just bought it...reading all the horror stories mine copy seems reasonably good. 1-2 small pops on side A which I consider accepable. Side B is with 3-4 louder pops on the begining of the first track but everything else is all good. Knowing that it could be quite worse i will keep what i have....the album is very nice and the sound is maybe 8 out of 10.

Picked up a used copy today for $20, lucky for me I got one of the flawless copies. Huzzah! Masterpiece of jazz guitar, band is firing on all cylinders.

It sounds good (if you get a clean copy and good luck with that!) but it sounds thinner and more like half decent digital when played alongside the AP 45rpm (or even the Dsd layer of the AP sacd).
There will be a UHQCD of this KPG cut soon which will at least guarantee a well pressed version (lol). -
What makes IDLE MOMENTS special to me is the addition of Bobby Hutcherson on vibes. Thankfully my copy of this pressing is flawless, it sounds superb, and plays flat, clean and quiet, with no noticeable surface noise.

Edited one year agoHad the zapping sounds on B1 too. Awaiting a replacement. Something tells me there was a problem with a set of stampers rather than non-fill since the same problem seems to be on so many copies.
Edit: Recieved a new copy and it’s much better. No obvious non-fills or zapping noises. Still a bit on the noisy side but acceptable. A keeper for me. Very nice album. -
Edited one year agoWonderful album which sounds great…. Until some sort of zapping whooshing sound kicks in on on the first track of Side B (Django). Very annoying. Seems like a common problem, going by the reviews. I’ll give this a deep clean and see if it helps. Unfortunately mine came from a different country so no returns. Oh well..

Regarding the sound, the clarity and definition is remarkable. Perfect separation of the sound scene. Henderson's sax sounds deep and Green's guitar has a nice timbre. But the problem comes on track B1 where there are several non fills (not very noticeable but perceptible). Once again, quality controls fail and can ruin a great mastering job. Something unacceptable. In of content, we are facing one of Green's musical peaks. Idle Moments is one of the most iconic pieces in jazz. An absolute pleasure.
