Don't have a Japanese original to compare this with, but don't feel I need one -- this is an excellent sounding reissue. Lovely open soundstage, and all instruments come through with great clarity. There is nice resonance from the hall environment, it really makes you feel like you are at the concert experiencing Miles. Reasonably priced compared to Japanese issues, well worth picking up.
