PPK – ResuRection

This track is an absolute jewel. Definitely on my top 10 ever!

a ode to music ! this tune is just awesome, the main melody is one of my favorites of all times and the few another sounds combine perfectly, one tune to !

It was inevitable that PPK ResuRection, at the time: circa 2001-2003, was destined to be raped by the "airwaves" as Jamster wrote about so presciently back in the year of its release, not to mention, a very early entry into Discogs review/comment board. Upon hearing this happily forgotten track in my own personal heap of Mp3's this afternoon I must say that Ignite.ice is right on by noting that a "great" song will not be hidden from the ears of multiple listeners outside of those surrounding the production of any track.

This track is quite good, very catchy, and holds up well in of what it is at its core... a very basic, primitive, Russian trance track. It was a few years ahead of its time, serving the fact that in the year 2013, the Russians have a few of the very best trance producers left in the world not pandering to the Tiestos and the Armins of the world. Those DJ's have settled into what jamster talked about which has hurt the trance productions, which use a cookie cutter formula for figuring out what tracks will make them the most cash and continue boosting their names and securing them gigs. In this period of Trance and electronic music, in general, which I view as nothing more than a moratorium, it's highly unlikely that PPK ResuRection would receive any distinguishable airplay today by Armin or Tiesto, etc. unless there was a Classic retro playlist to profit from or in a worse scenario, a new producer creates a series of "updates" or remixes from a label probably owned or managed by them (Tiesto or Armin).....All in the name of Profit, not integrity

This track has been out for more than a year, with Oakenfold giving it mighty rotation at all the main events, including the Gatecraher summer sound (summer 2001) and Creamfields. This tune has a very distinctive, original sound, much like ATBs 9pm till i come.

A big fear of mine, and i know many others, is that once it is released in the charts, it will become overplayed and abused on all commercial radio stations, making it common, and "run of the mill". (Just as ATB was).

Should it be, that some......special tracks, the type that are only discovered every 2 or 3 years, should never be allowed airtime on radio stations, to avoid its inevitable downfall? Ill let you make up your own mind...
