The British dance act Faithless, consisting of producers Rollo, Sister Bliss and rapper Maxi Jazz, makes a cross-over of house and pop. Thereby the group falls well under both dance-as popliefhebbers. The mid 1990s broke through with the singles group Salva Mea, Insomnia and later God Is A DJ that were high in the charts for weeks. The trademark is the extremely danceable club sound in which the beat is always working toward an explosive climax and the dark brown voice over of Maxi Jazz, which on an almost mesmerizing way his lyrics. This success formula is since the debut Reverence (1996) actually remained unchanged. Also on the third album Outrospective embroiders Faithless largely on the same master. A modest change of course is a somewhat greater intimacy, achieved with some poppy samples (such as Sympathy of Family Dog from 1969) and introverted vocals by Sister Bliss and Dido-the sister of Rollo. But the most important ingredient is the Faithless so characteristic works with dynamic differences, such as in the exciting single We Come 1.
