Edited one month agoDoes anyone know if recent batches have improved some of the issues previous reviews have mentioned?
Update: no, the batches are still wonky. First copy had a visible 2 inch scratch (almost like someone at the factory sliced it), second copy wasn’t as bad visually, but there was a skip and loud surface noise on both discs. Music is 5 stars, pressing is 3 stars. Maybe some people are lucky with their copies but I had poor luck with two. The Walmart exclusive red/white has treated me better -
Edited one year agoAll around decent pressing, the red record looks great. Most of the songs sound awesome with “Another One Bites The Dust” being a stand out. Like some already stated, when “Fat Bottom Girls” comes on its quiet and low quality. Generally the songs towards the center of the record lose steam compare to the first couple. All around great listen, every song is a hit!

Edited one year agoMy brand new copy is very quiet, no static, no pops or crackles. Part of the pressing is poor which is unfortunate as side A1 is dynamic, punchy, beautifully clear with nice wide soundstage. This pressing rocks until you get to fat bottomed girls. The first 40 seconds of FBGs has you thinking this album side is almost perfect....then the sound drops out and it sounds like the band is playing in my back bathroom with the door shut. I tried it on two different systems to that yep, bad pressing on one song. The rest of the sides play great and since I don't need to listen to FBG's very often overall the copy is very good with one bummer track. The sunburst color is a plus just because it's different and looks good on my red turntable.

Just picked this one up from Target and gave it a good wash. There was some noise on A1, so I tweeked the anti-skate and balance on my Technics SL-D2 and that seemed to help. The songs sound mostly clean except for a moment of light noise during the beginning of A4, B4, C2, and between songs. No warping, thank goodness. The vocals and instruments sound exceptional. The gatefold is beautiful, and the info on the sleeves with original album art are nice celebration of Queen's legacy. The red-orange swirl is mostly red swirls on mine but still stunning. Exchanges seem risky, so I think this one's a keeper for now.

I guess we are lucky! The one I picked up this week at the local Tar-jay is amazing! Very quiet where it is supposed to be quiet and punchy when it counts. Very little noise or distortion. I had no warping issues. No spindle hole fit issues. Beautiful all-around. It was a little dusty out of the sleeve with a few trimming flakes. Ran through a spin-washer followed by gentle soft cloth dry. and a light carbon fiber brush just before needle drop. Zero static. Loving this compilation.

Not a good pressing. Lots of static and pops brand new. Vinyl looks cool, but that's all. Do not recommend!

The sound on mine is awful. Cracks, skips you name it. Insanely warped, the label is coming up and the first record’s hole barely fit on the record player. So sad considering the color is so awesome.

This pressing is horrible. Brand new record. So much white noise out of the right channel, I made me think I had an issue with my system. This is not normal. Most of the noise in the pressing in on side 2 of the first album. Cleaning does noting and no apparent dust

Pressing sounds great to my ears and practically begs to be cranked up and rocked out to - shrink was super tight and caused some dish warping but plays back fine. Vinyl is positively stunning and reminds me of pictures of the sun. Orange and red swirly goodness and a low noise floor. Maybe a bit steep pricing for what it is but it does sound good to me at least. Nice gatefold and full color sleeves, shame I always swap mine to mofi-style sleeves lol
