Picked this up a bit after RSD. I'm not a fan of colored vinyl, and this looks more orange than gold. (Someone said orange Fanta? Ha!)The music sounds good, but I think it has quite a bit of pops and surface noise even after thorough cleaning. I agree with others, the 2 bonus CD tracks could have been included. I have the cassette and it sounds pretty good. A+ for music - B-/C for pressing

Too bad "Laughing" was not added (a double LP with the extra tracks released on CD in the past would have been ideal...), that song is one of my favorite, such a beautiful melody, never understood why it wasn't included in the original album tracklist...

This new version has a more defined low end and I think it adds more dimensional qualities to the music. I also feel like the sound is warmer on this new version. Vocals pretty much consistent on both versions (kind of sound odd and echoey at times). The original is noticeably louder. Going back and listening to the original and comparing a song like Terra Nova Caine, the original sounds noticeably louder and seems to have a more expansive soundstage. But when I turn this version up a little more the soundstage is enhanced and it doesn’t sound too different than the original. Both versions are almost identical in sound. Maybe just a little better in this new version because the sound holds up better at higher levels. Comes in a plain inner sleeve with no insert or anything (the original came this way also)

Listening right now. Pharoah sounds nice. My only complaint is the drums could be punchier. Realizing this isn't a remaster, it sounds nice to me. Metropolis has good instrument separation and the vocal sounds nice. Again, a hotter mix would have put a smile on my face. The "gold" vinyl looks more like butterscotch, but I don't plan on eating it.
Old school Arista labels, plays quietly and flat. No insert was a bummer too. All and all, pick one up if you see it. $25 well spent.

Very rare pressing. Love to have a copy but ultra scarce. Agree with previous comment stating 2 x LP with extra tracks would have been nice.

What a shame this wasn't the Australian tracklist on 2 45rpm discs. I would have been all over it. This is no more interesting than the standard US release.

So looking forward to this release, but not too familiar with Real Gone Music. With such a small number being pressed, I hope it isn’t “Real Gone” as quickly as their Spacehog reissue.
