My RSD picture disc has a 'pimple' on both sides track3. an obvious pressing flaw, Otherwise the disc looks/plays fine.

I have the original 1980 vinyl release also and this version is obviously louder but also sounds compressed. The difference between the two pressings is quite striking really. Beautifully presented however and that's probably the main reason for getting this.

As others have said, this sounds great, especially for a picture disc. I´d say to anyone thinking of getting this version that there´s nothing to worry about if they get it.

For a picture disc this sounds pretty darn good. No major complaints at all. Worth a pick up for a fan of one of the best Cure albums (IMO).
-
There is a very noticeable droning hiss at the beginning of each side. It can't really be heard during play. Quality during playback is decent though.

Edited 4 years agoThe sound is surprisingly decent for a picture disc. There is surface noise, but on my setup I only really hear it at the beginning of each side. It could've been MUCH worse. I'm honestly happy with how this one turned out.

Bought it today at RSD 2020. The sound floor on this is pretty bad even for a picture disc. It’s soo bad it has to be on purpose? Otherwise the rest of the sound quality is excellent. Oh well, it will make nice wall art which is all a picture disc is typically good for anyway I guess.
