Nostalgia was kinder to this album than the reality of listening to it in 2024 for me. But that's a matter of opinion, and if you love the album, it sounds pretty darn good.
The production on Shine sounds boring to me now. It's warm, fuzzy, and kinda almost velvety, but it has no punch at all. Interestingly, some of the deeper album cuts that never saw radio play do have more interesting stuff going on.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with this pressing though, and like I said, if you love the album, it does probably sound as good as it's ever going to. -
Great fuckin 90’s album and the Craft vinyl sounds punchy, warm and outstanding!! Get your hands on this one!

Excellent pressing! After collecting cd's my entire life and being club of both BMG and Columbia House, I've finally discovered what the vinyl fuss is all about. This title, one of my all time favorites, sounds far superior than the CD ever did! I can't wait to grow my collection with more titles from Collective Soul and other 90's artists!

Edited one year agoAnyone know if this was remastered? I'm currently doing my first listen through of my second copy (the first copy I received (<$20 from Wal-Mart) was apparently repackaged at some point and had a crushed outer sleeve) and immediatley jumped on here as I noted what on first listen appears to be a sliding of the guitar between channels on Shine, which I had never really noted before despite thousands of prior digital listens (CD, streaming, and MP3/FLAC). Of course, sometimes I just listen more intensively when it comes to vinyl (i.e. trying to make sure there are no physical defects). I'll dig out my old CD from the early 90s and follow up on this.

It’s not a ridiculously audiophile recording, however it’s very clean and crisp. I’m pleased with my reasonably priced purchase ($23 new). It’s hard to get some of the best stuff from the 90’s and in my opinion this is one of the good ones.

I must have received a dud. My copy plated noisy right out of the shrink and again after ultrasonic cleaning. Luck of the draw sometimes I guess…

Very clean pressing. Crystal clear, punchy, flat and quiet vinyl. Sounds Far better than the cd I’ve had since it’s release. Very happy to have this in my collection, along with their self titled followup. So happy this is finally back in print. Don’t pay the $50+ here on Discogs cuz you can get this for $27 from brick and mortar record stores right now. Highly recommended

A week ago I got the black LP of Hints Allegations And Things Left Unsaid, I have the cassette and CD, I can attest that they were right ... let's say it's not a huge reissue of the material but making comparisons, the truth sounds good, quite simple The presentation but the quality of the audio is worth it, an anecdote, there is a Scream theme, I have noticed that in other photos, including Spotify, it sounds louder, in the LP no, it sounds very loud and flat, happily it is so because this theme I never liked.
