Does anyone else hear clicks on the first half of "Solid Ground?" I'm trying to see if I should return and swap.

I agree with nyuricon and have to say this pressing is topnotch: flat, tracks well, bass is deep, sound stage is wide, and it just sounds 3-D. Well done.

First off, I cannot recommend more that one seek the Interscope pressing, which is fantastic, the Polydor is problematic....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do think that no single album truly stands as the solo monopoly for best of a decade. However each decade has a pantheon, a small coterie of the truly incredible, that inevitably stand out, remaining timeless.
Michael Kiwanuka's album here, is among the best albums of the 2010's, and I believe will only grow in retrospective awareness that time produces, how this is a masterpiece, that one day will likely be placed in Rolling Stones Top 500 albums of all time for example.
It's meant to be listened in entirety, sort of atypical for post-album era (and it's successor of tangible format, the CD). The entire experience is sublime, however each track can be listened, loved on its own merits, even the interludes.
Michael Kiwanuka, Danger Mouse, and Inflo have succeeded in crafting a masterpiece.
I look forward to seeing what Michael Kiwanuka does next.
Danger Mouse, who "made his bones" so to speak with the really amazing "Grey Album", the unintentional phenomenon, and then of course Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells, Beck, etc. has finally produced to his ambition, better then amazing, better then great, better then awesome, but a timeless masterpiece.
Inflo is certainly a producer to be on the look for future projects as a result.
Kendrick Lamar's Damn in my opinion will also be in this 2010's pantheon of masterpieces. There's more of course.
Timely, and timeless, Michael Kiwanuka has gifted the world in his gifts a masterpiece. -
Edited 4 years agoThis pressing sounds absolutely perfect. Rich bass and clear soundstage. Highly recommended!

Agree with the person below i love this record but i have the optimal/polydor pressing on yellow vinyl and it is absolutely awful want to know if the memphis pressing is any better ?
-
Can anyone comment on how this pressing sounds?
Every review of the various Polydor pressings seems to be negative
Love this record and want to make sure the vinyl does it justice!
